On Wednesday, Zrinjski Mostar will face FK Sarajevo in the top Bosnian league clash. This is a truly top-of-the-table game, as the visitors secured third place last season, thus qualifying for the Conference League, while the home team even won the championship. This is probably one of the reasons why the odds are more in favor of the hosts. However, the hosts have definitely not had a particularly good start to the new season. Igor Stimac's team not only failed to advance to the second round of Champions League qualifying, but also to the Europa League playoffs. All that's left is the eligibility for the Conference League. But things get worse. With just four points from their first three league matches, the reigning champions are also only ninth in the domestic league and thus in a relegation spot. However, we shouldn't overemphasize this, as the home side currently have three fewer games than most of their league rivals. Sarajevo has already conceded twelve goals in the first five league games.
